Lydia Baehr has developed and implemented a multitude of award-winning public relations campaigns for cultural and performing arts organizations. In 2006, she opened her own firm.
She quickly immerses herself in creating customized communication programs uniquely designed to achieve a client’s business objectives. Her strong media relationships give her access to print, online, radio and television outlets.
She is a winner of multiple Public Relations Society of America Excalibur Awards, including the 2006 Gold award for Best Electronic Press Kit for The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy: The Exhibition, developed and presented by the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in partnership with New Line Cinema.
In 2005, Baehr was the recipient of the PRSA Gold award for Best Electronic Press Kit for Tibet the Exhibition whose national tour was organized by the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California in collaboration with: the Bureau of Cultural Relics, Tibet Autonomous Region; the Potala Palace; and the Tibet Museum. She also won the Electronic Press Kit Silver award for The Dead Sea Scrolls, an exhibition of biblical proportions electronic press kit, an exhibition made possible by the generous loan of artifacts by the Israel Antiquities Authority and with the cooperation of the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Dead Sea Scrolls Foundation and the Public Museum of Grand Rapids.
The same year, Baehr was also awarded the PRSA Gold award for Best Media Relations Campaign for Gold! Natural Treasure, Cultural Obsession, an exhibition organized by the Houston Museum of Natural Science and also won the Silver award for the Wiess Energy Hall electronic press kit.
Prior to founding Lydia Baehr Public Relations, she developed several successful public relations campaigns for the Houston Symphony, Society for the Performing Arts, Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre, the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Institute of Hispanic Culture.
