The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center Advisory Board invited guests to the 2009 Winter Membership Drive. The Cork and Fork Barbeque Team served its award-winning Kobe brisket and hand-selected wines compliments of Redwood Creek Winery. Live owls were displayed from Wildlife Rehab & Education. Arboretum naturalists led Owl Prowl tours through the Arboretum's nature sanctuary for an unforgettable night.

Carnival festivities included a trick or treat trail, pumpkin decorating, petting zoo, pony rides, and face painting stations. Kids practiced their web-scaling skills on a larger than life spider web and glided like flying squirrels on a zip line. The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, a lush 155-acre nature preserve, is one of the city's greatest natural treasures. The perserve is located at 4501 Woodway Drive on the western edge of Memorial Park, just inside 610 Loop West, The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
